Far from the hustle and bustle…

We drove up north, past Lancaster, tonight with our family friend. He is a single man in his 50’s, living like a hermit in his home in Tehachapi.

In his bathroom, I found a Circus Circus can with a bundle of hair inside. Really bizarre. Knowing this man since the first day we arrived in the US, he is extremely sentimental so I thought there must have been some value in it or reason for collecting hair.

So, in the car, I asked.

Me: Why do you collect hair?

Tito Carlos: You saw my Circus Circus can in the bathroom, huh?

Me: Yeah.

Tito Carlos: If you looked under the can, I also put the date when I cut my hair.

Me: Oh… You’re going to donate your hair, huh?

Tito Carlos: Nope. I was bored. I live in Tehachapi. I’ve to find something to do.

Everyone in the car: (LOL for at least 5 minutes)

That was when I figured why he puts the dates on almost anything — even shampoo bottles, marking when he purchased them and when he finished the bottles.
