So, we just confirmed that my brother has a girlfriend. He has been secretly dating her since… uhh.. before November.

My 16-year old brother. girlfriend. sophomore. average grades.

I asked my mom if she’s OK with my brother having a girlfriend. My mom’s totally fine with it. Why? She said it’s because males don’t get pregnant. That offended me.

I wonder if I had done the same when I was still in high school… I bet she’d get mad. Even if I had straight A’s and I was a valedictorian. None of that matters if you’re female and if you have a conservative parent. As long as you can get pregnant, you’re limited.

It’s really unfair. He can be out late because he’s a guy. Fact is that I can pin my brother down when he’s taller/bigger than me. And yet, I, a 19-year old female college student, have the curfew.

There are times when I feel that grades aren’t enough to satisfy my parents. My 3rd grade sister gets Power Reader awards/certificates every month, and each time, my mom celebrates it and flaunts it to everybody. And she calls an 8-year old “baby,” which is why my sister acts like a baby.

I’m the odd one out. *sigh*
